Navigation and Screen Display

This section describes the Oracle Insurance Rules Workbench user interface layout and outlines interactions with interface components when working with rules.

Navigation Overview

  • Environment (Display Field): Displays the current environment being used.

  • Home : Navigates to the Environments selection screen.

  • Search Explorer: Located in the Navigation Explorer. Enter a keyword to search for rules or configuration items.

  • Rule Tabs : Each rule opens in a separate tab at the top of the Configuration Area, supporting multi-rule editing.

  • Toolbar: Located at the top of the Configuration Area, providing key editing and configuration functions.

  • Close Tabs: Use the X icon to close an individual tab. Use the Close All Open Rule Tabs to close all rule tabs simultaneously.

  • Environment (Dropdown List) : Dropdown menu for switching between assigned environments.

  • Profile : Displays the logged-in username with access to account-related options.

  • Navigation Explorer : Left panel with a collapsible layout displaying explorers and rule categories. Click a folder to expand and browse configuration items.

  • Configuration Area (Panel) : Central working panel, divided into sections based on the selected rule or screen. Use the vertical resize handle (||) on the left edge to adjust width, collapse or expand.

Toolbar

The toolbar offers a consistent set of Rule Control Action icons across all configuration screens. Icons are dynamically enabled or disabled according to the current status (Draft, Read, or Edit) of the rule or item, ensuring only context-appropriate actions are available.

The following table lists the commonly available toolbar actions with their intended functions:

Select config package Dropdown to select an existing configuration package required for saving a rule.
AddPackage Opens a field to create a new configuration package.
CheckOut Unlocks the rule for editing.
CheckIn Submits and locks the rule after saving
SaveRule Saves changes to the rule (enabled only when the rule is checked out).
RevertModifications Discards any unsaved changes made to the rule (enabled only when the rule is checked out)
Delete Deletes the currently opened rule (after confirmation)
